I eventually realized if i fiddle around which system I'm looking at or what game speed to unpause at, I can sometimes go past the 12.05 date. Now, in terms of new details not covered in the original post, I discovered it may not be an event that's firing on a specific date, though for some reason 99% of the time it always happens on 2230.12.05 which gave the illusion that it was a date-specific issue. In the case of windowed/borderless mode, I can click around and eventually be prompted to wait or terminate. I have to use keyboard controls to move the window to the second monitor to even control and access the Task Manager to terminate the process in the case of Full Screen Mode. In either display modes, when this happens nothing in the primary monitor's display area (where Stellaris is supposed to occupy) responds to clicks not even if the game is put to background or if I loaded up Task Manager. It "eliminated" the minimize and shruken resolution issue since there's no window to minimize, but it would simply remain frozen at the same or similar timing. As mentioned in the post, the game would freeze on a certain date, gets minimized to task bar, and gets shrunk to the upper-left corner of the screen (if using Windowed or Borderless mode) then become unresponsive/frozen.Įventually as i suspected potential graphics issue (due to the shrunken resolution and window minimization behavior) I tried Full Screen mode.
